Dogs Around the Lakes: Harriet 2012 artwork scheduled to be complete mid-June! Thank you to all that joined me at the lake for the Mother’s Day photo shoot. Check back!

Thank you to all that joined me at Lake Harriet yesterday for a beautiful Mother’s Day version of Dogs Around the Lakes. A total of 26 dogs came out for a free 10-minute photo session to be a candidate for the Dogs Around the Lakes limited edition print (see past samples at www.lintuart.com). I’ll be making the tough decision to narrow the field to 16 beauties to be featured on the artwork and I’ll have photo galleries up for their people to view. Thank you for a fantastic day!

Greetings everyone! The first 2012 Dogs Around the Lakes photo session will be held this Sunday, May 13th (yep, Mother’s Day!) from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Sign up for a free ten minute photo session with your pup at Lake Harriet and receive one free printed photo if a ‘mom’ is in the group. You could be a mom, you bring your mom, or your dog considers you a mom. We’ll be taking photos near the Lake Harriet band shell (detailed map upon request)

…the artwork may have looked like Moorhead, Minnesota’s John Berdahl. John traveled to the cities to have his work in Deviant Art: Dispelling Myths and he has a soft-spot for our ‘deviant’ breeds. When two of his pieces didn’t sell during the show, he asked how he could get the word out that his mission is to have proceeds benefit A Rotta Love Plus, an organization that swoops in to rescue dogs and educate their people.

Here is a solution: Now until May 3rd these two pieces of artwork are discounted to $260. Measuring 12”x36” these pieces will be impressive without being overbearing. Interested in some beautiful artwork supporting a beautiful cause? sarah.lintu@gmail.com.

George wants to thank everyone that supported A Rotta Love Plus during Deviant Art: Dispelling Myths IV. George came to me through ARLP’s program and with the money generated by artwork sales, more dogs like him will receive a second chance. The seventeen dogs have all been cared for in some capacity through A Rotta Love’s program. The Rottweilers were part of a large bust in Texas named the Texas 200. They’ve just recently celebrated their one year anniversary in Minnesota! Our hearts go out to Patsy and Copper who are featured on the print but have crossed the rainbow bridge.

Last night a hard-working group of A Rotta Love Plus volunteers and I set up 165 pieces of artwork for Deviant Art: Dispelling Myths IV. NE Minneapolis Punch Pizza donated pizza and we brought the muscle to get the show up from start to finish in under six hours! Join us tonight from 5-9pm for the preview (Northrup King Building #332). Artwork is not for sale tonight but its a great opportunity to see the show and the rest of the building’s studios. Yesterday I looked outside, saw the puffy clouds, and smelled the cool air mixing with the fire from a neighbor’s chimney. I couldn’t resist. Seven hours of biking around town (state) later, I felt satisfied. I missed having my normal studio Sunday but sometimes it is good to put down the routine and get out there and enjoy the sunshine.
